Dental Assistant 1

The Dental Assistant 1 position is an entry level dental assistant role. This role is responsible for working directly with dentists and hygienists to support the clinical operations of the office. 

Required Skills and Abilities

Patient Intake and Triage

  • Welcome and prepare patients for treatment while ensuring a comfortable and positive visit

  • Review medical histories, treatment plans, and consent forms

  • Document patient concerns and assist providers in gathering diagnostic information

Clinical Assisting

  • Provide chairside assistance during restorative and removable procedures

  • Prepare operatories and instruments for treatment

  • Maintain proper isolation, suction, and patient positioning throughout procedures

  • Take impressions and assist with removable appliance workflows

Imaging & Digital Records

  • Capture diagnostic images including intraoral radiographs, panoramic images, and intraoral photographs

  • Perform digital intraoral scans when needed

  • Accurately chart treatment and update patient records in the practice management system

Treatment Coordination Support

  • Assist with treatment documentation and clinical handoffs to the administrative team

  • Ensure efficient patient flow and provider schedule management

Sterilization & Clinical Operations

  • Follow OSHA and infection control protocols for instrument processing

  • Maintain organized operatories and assist with room turnover between patients

Qualifications

Required

  • X-ray certification

  • CPR / First Aid Certification

  • Radiation Safety Certification

Preferred

  • Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) License

  • 1+ year of dental assisting experience

Skills & Attributes

  • Strong communication and patient interaction skills

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented

  • Able to multi-task and stay calm in a fast-paced environment

  • Positive attitude, willingness to learn and support teammates

  • Interest in continuing to grow clinical knowledge and skills

Schedule

  • Full-time (8:30AM–5:00PM on scheduled work days) preferred.
